14 Months of pain officially at an end. Real Madrid have been more like a telenovela than a football club competing for silverware over the last 14 month. A listless shiftless squad on the pitch. The record in big games has been appalling. The switch is evidently broken. A new way is necessary and it may well be the path the current team is on.
We say goodbye to all the drama and fingerpointing. The new year opens with silverware on the line. There will be no room for drama in the following 5 months. Needless to say the journalists will manufacture it if they have to. The team will only succeed if the players agree that they all have important jobs regardless of who gets the headlines. When the team is successful everyone gets the headlines. When the team struggles players get singled out for praise and ridicule just the same. It should not be so difficult to show these players how they’ve sacrificed in the past for each other. Vini, Fede, Rodrygo, Militao and Courtois.. I dare not mention Carvajal; these are players who know what it takes to win. They suffered humiliation and came back to win. They’ve won very difficult trophies and some much easier ones. They did it with a kind of humility that seems suddenly absent.
Kylian Out For 3 WEEKS
Kylian Mbappe continues the trend of injuries well into 2026 with the latest news being that the Frenchman is out for up to 3 weeks after playing through pain for several weeks. This means Kylian will miss the supercopa entirely. The tournament is not always significant but it is important right now as the team have got to improve in big matches.
