PASADENA, C.A. (KELO) — Milbank native Kalen DeBoer is gearing up to play in one of the biggest college football games of the season.
Alabama will play top-seeded Indiana on Thursday in the Rose Bowl. The Crimson Tide earned a ten point upset win over Oklahoma in the first round to reach the quarterfinals. Even on the biggest stage in college football, DeBoer still attributes moments from his home state of South Dakota to his success as a coach.
“It’s a special place because its to me, it was the heart and soul of why you love the game of football,” DeBoer said. “The camaraderie that my teammates, it’s just really like genuine care for the game.”
DeBoer and the Crimson Tide will kick off against the No. 1 Hoosiers in the Rose Bowl at 3pm on New Years Day.
