Barcelona close the doors on young forward’s January exit amid rising interest

Roony Bardghji was signed as a bet for the future by FC Barcelona last summer.

Despite strong interest from clubs like Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Atletico Madrid, the club managed to sign the winger from FC Copenhagen for €2 million.

Barcelona took advantage of the fact that he had only one year left on his contract with the Danish side and accepted the risk after he had come back from a serious injury.

Six months later, the 20-year-old starlet is now fully integrated into the squad and into life in the city. Meanwhile, the club is very satisfied with his performance, even though he has not played a lot of minutes.

No January exit for Bardghji

In fact, despite interest from several clubs looking into a possible loan move this month, Barcelona have closed the door to any departure, reports Mundo Deportivo.

They believe that Bardghji not only has a great future at the club, but also that he will be a very useful player throughout a season packed with matches.

Although he has only featured in nine of the 25 official matches Barcelona have played so far this season, both Hansi Flick and Deco have full confidence in him.

Although Lamine Yamal plays in his position, the fact that the 18-year-old superstar has already operated as an attacking midfielder opens up options for Roony to get minutes on the wing.

In addition, the La Masia graduate will not be able to play every match, and it is in those games that Bardghji is expected to get his opportunities. If required, Flick can also use the Swedish international as an attacking midfielder.
