Lamine Yamal’s fitness is once again in the spotlight as Barcelona prepare to resume La Liga action after the festive break with a derby clash at Espanyol on Saturday.
According to Diario Sport, Yamal arrived for a late afternoon training session at Barcelona on Thursday but left minutes later and did not join in with the rest of his team-mates.
The report goes on to say it’s not thought to be a serious problem but his progress will now be monitored as Barca continue preparations for their first game of 2026.
Barca are due to train again on Friday, while Hansi Flick will also hold his pre-match press conference, so we should get more of an idea of whether Yamal will play then.
The Catalan giants are then due to head out to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup and a semi-final clash with Athletic Club on January 7th in Jeddah.
