A tough loss to the transfer portal
ESPN’s Pete Thamel is reporting that All-Big Ten safety Koi Perich plans to enter the transfer portal when it officially opens on Friday, Jan. 2. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
Thamel noted that Perich has “not ruled out a return to Minnesota” but “wants to explore his options.”
The Esko native became a fan favorite after a first-team All-Big Ten freshman season in which he recorded 46 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions, three pass break-ups, and one forced fumble. This season, Perich finished with 82 total tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, two pass break-ups, and one forced fumble. He also saw snaps on offense, hauling in seven receptions for 89 receiving yards.
