DONE DEAL: Manor Solomon heads to Fiorentina on loan

Spain hasn’t worked out; maybe Italy will?

It’s a flurry of completed business early in January! Tottenham Hotspur have announced Israeli winger Manor Solomon has been recalled from his loan at Villareal to be sent out on loan to Fiorentina for the rest of the 2025/26 season:

Solomon’s recall from the Yellow Submarine isn’t really a surprise. He started well, collecting a goal and an assist in his first two appearances for the Spanish club before a mixture of injuries and poor form saw his playing time dwindle. He didn’t add to his goal tally, and only ended up with 11 appearances across all competitions, with only five of those as part of the starting XI.

His switch to Serie A should see more playing time, with Fiorentina desperately in need of reinforcements at the bottom of the table. He’ll be a point of difference in the Fiorentina squad, with the Tuscan side populated with a number of central forwards but not a lot of width and pace. Provided he can stay fit (and with Solomon that is certainly no guarantee) this is a good chance for Solomon to make a case for a transfer to a decent club, with a return to Spurs seemingly not on the cards.

According to Fiorentina’s statement, there is an option to buy. Whether that ends up being exercised is anyone’s guess – especially given Fiorentina’s position on the Serie A table. Good luck in Italy Manor, and enjoy Florence!
