Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen didn’t train with the group in Saturday’s session, the one ahead of Sunday’s home match against Betis in the return of La Liga after the Christmas break. It looks like the Spanish center-back could miss the game.
Huijsen went through some physical problems over the last few weeks, but he was able to play in Real Madrid’s last two games, featuring in the starting lineup and actually playing 90 minutes in both matches. He was also able to complete the first training sessions after the break, so today’s absence is an odd one.
If Huijsen can’t play against Betis, expect Raúl Asencio and Antonio Rudiger to play in the center of the defensive line.
