In a recent report, journalist Dean Jones claimed that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Atalanta midfielder Ederson. It has been revealed that the Red Devils are eyeing a move to bring the Brazilian talent to Old Trafford this year.
Ederson’s Impressive Form In Serie A
The 26-year-old is having a solid campaign at the Italian club as he has produced a series of eye-catching displays for them in the middle of the park. Ederson has registered one goal and grabbed one assist in 18 appearances for Atalanta this season across all competitions.
The Brazilian sensation has proven his worth as a consistent performer at the centre of the park by making 27 tackles, ten blocks, ten interceptions and 15 clearances in Serie A. He has even distributed possession accurately from midfield after completing 89.8% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at Atalanta will expire in the summer of 2027, which could open the door for Man United to sign him on the cheap at the end of this season.

Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Move In For Ederson?
Ederson is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when the opposition are on the front foot and is an accurate passer of the ball as well.
The Brazilian talent can even chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team. Ederson is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if needed. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League.
Ederson will add more bite and steel to Man United head coach Ruben Amorim’s midfield. He is good enough to compete for a regular starting spot at the Mancunian club.
At 26, Ederson has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Red Devils to consider this year. Thus, Amorim should focus on moving in for him soon.
