The Gophers get much-needed offensive line help
Tennessee offensive lineman Bennett Warren has committed to transferring to Minnesota. One of the Golden Gophers’ top offensive line targets this portal season, he has three years of eligibility remaining.
Warren is a former four-star prospect who had 25+ Power 4 scholarship offers coming out of high school. After redshirting last season, he appeared in all 13 games for the Volunteers this season, playing primarily on special teams. However, Warren was pressed into spot duty in their games against Alabama and Florida.
Expect Warren to be the favorite to start at right tackle for Minnesota in the fall. The right side of the offensive line was a sore spot for the Gophers this season, and starting right tackle Dylan Ray is out of eligibility.
