“Scary…” – Rosenior names what he’s most excited about at Chelsea

One thing we knew about Liam Rosenior even before he took the Strasbourg job was that he is a great communicator.

He’s done enough media work, as a player and then as a pundit, that we knew he was very well spoken and engaging. But it’s also about saying the right thing, it’s not just about how you say it.

Well, in his first interview as Chelsea boss he’s proving he knows that too. His quotes on the challenge ahead were enough to get any fan excited:

“The potential [is what I’m most excited about] – I think the potential is scary. If you have what we have here in terms of the raw tools, the ingredients, the quality of the players, the age they’re at, and in terms the staff,” Rosenior said in his wide-ranging interview with the club, featured on their official website.

“Then, in terms of the supporters, when Stamford Bridge is rocking and with the away fans, Chelsea away fans are top.”

He’s not just blowing smoke – we all know that the Chelsea fans can be brilliant at home when they’re given exciting football and good results – and it’s on him to deliver that.

Of course it takes more than good messaging to succeed – but it’s been a while since we had anyone managing at Chelsea who got us excited like this. Let’s hope he’s as good at the other stuff.

In other news…

Rosenior also spoke about what kind of coach he thinks he is, with some really interesting quotes on the kind of qualities he thinks he can bring to the role.

A Sky pundit had an interesting take on Rosenior’s coaching talent, claiming he’s “phenomenal” and would do well at Chelsea.
