Crimson Tide signal caller will be heading to the NFL.
Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson has informed the Alabama coaches that he will enter the NFL Draft.
Simpson wrote in an Instagram post that included a narrated video: “Grateful for every single second. Blessed beyond measure to be able to chase my dreams. Time to roll. Roll Tide.”
“It wasn’t all perfect and it didn’t have to be, but every moment had meaning, and I gave Alabama my all,” Simpson said in the video. “And I got so much more in return. Coach [Nick] Saban was right — it was all worth it.”
While other Bama quarterbacks came and left, the redshirt junior stuck around and waited his turn. In 2025, he was named team captain and named the starter, a position he kept throughout all 15 games. For his efforts, he was named second team All-SEC (behind the diminutive Diego Pavia).
In 2025, Simpson completed 305 of 473 passes (64.5%) for 3,567 yards 28 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions. Through much of the season, he was looking like a Heisman Trophy candidate, but then he tailed off later in the year. Some unverified talk had it that he suffered through a back injury for most of that span.
Many of the NFL Draft mockers have him pegged as a first round pick as high as No. 3 to the Arizona Cardinals. The Steelers have been associated with Simpson. Though Pittsburgh’s draft position is yet to be determined, it is thought to eventually land around the lower 20s.
