Lecce’s victory, achieved with battling determination in the midst of a major emergency, hasn’t restored peace at Roma.

Behind Gian Piero Gasperini’s controversial silence at the Via del Mare stadium, discontent was evident, and it erupted today in a decisive face-to-face meeting.

The clarifying meeting between the coach and the club’s management has just concluded at Trigoria, a summit that began immediately after the afternoon training session to chart the final course for a January that has so far been too static.

Ryan Friedkin and Claudio Ranieri sat at the negotiating table. Dan Friedkin was also present, connecting remotely from the United States.

The notable absentee—and justified—was sporting director Frederic Massara, who flew to Milan to make a decisive move with Giacomo Raspadori’s agents and finally break the deadlock with Atlético Madrid.

Gasperini was categorical: the team is suffering from a lack of attacking options, a shortcoming the coach has highlighted since the end of last summer.

Although the three points against Lecce have given the league table a boost, the coach is demanding concrete and, above all, immediate guarantees.

Gasperini demanded a clear timeline for signings, emphasizing that Roma cannot afford to reach mid-month without the new face promised under the Christmas tree.

The meeting provided reassuring news regarding a constructive atmosphere; according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the parties at the table are ready to look forward with the same objectives.
