Davante Adams and Quentin Lake will return, but Dotson could be in trouble
If the L.A. Rams are going to get star right guard Kevin Dotson back in time to face the Panthers on Saturday, he will need to get back on a field soon. Unfortunately, Dotson missed practice again on Wednesday, just three days before the wild card game, and hasn’t practiced since being injured by the Seattle Seahawks three weeks ago. The Rams lost their lead to Seattle and then lost the next week against the Falcons without Dotson.
The NFL’s top offensive line is missing one of its top players.
In addition to Dotson missing practice, rookie tight end Terrance Ferguson, receiver Jordan Whittington, and cornerback Josh Wallace were also out on Wednesday.
Braden Fiske and Tyler Higbee were both limited, while Quentin Lake, Davante Adams, and Darious Williams were full participants.
The Rams have been starting Justin Dedich at right guard in Dotson’s absence. At least the loss hasn’t been as bad as having to watch D.J. Humphries stand in for A.J. Jackson.
On the Panthers side, star defensive tackle Derrick Brown was a DNP, but only for rest. Everyone else was a full participant.
The Rams and Panthers will announce official game designations on Thursday. It would be surprising if Dotson, Ferguson, Wallace, and Whittington were better than questionable.
