Random Ramsdom: Familiar faces, familiar places

Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 1/8/26

The Los Angeles Rams already have traveled to take on the Carolina Panthers this season, and they are doing it again. Familiar places. The Rams also will be seeing a number of former players of their own playing for the Panthers. Familiar faces.

5 former Rams will start for Panthers in Saturday’s playoff game (ramswire)

“When the Los Angeles Rams take the field for Saturday’s game against the Carolina Panthers, they’re going to see a lot of familiar faces on the other side. Not only are coaches such as Ejiro Evero, AC Carter and Jonathan Cooley on Dave Canales’ staff after spending time under Sean McVay in Los Angeles, but the Panthers have several former Rams players in their starting lineup.

In total, there are five former Rams who will start for the Panthers this weekend, showing just how much familiarity there is between these two teams.“

The Panthers may actually know the Rams better than the Rams know the Panthers. That could be everything. Then again, if L.A. comes out as the best version of themselves, I truly believe they can outplay anybody this year. IF they come out as their best selves.

I believe Davantae Adams is expected back for L.A., hopefully that helps, right?

This game is gearing up to be must watch TV, but that’s no surprise, this is the NFL playoffs, baby.

Why the Rams are the most disciplined team in the NFL since 2020 (theramswire)

“That kind of success doesn’t happen by accident. McVay is known as an offensive innovator, but his teams have also been the most disciplined in the NFL since 2020.

The Rams committed the fewest penalties in the league in 2025 (75), and no team has been flagged fewer times in total over the past six seasons, according to CBS Sports. If you roll over the Rams’ committed penalties every season, the team is still the least flagged every season:“

“He would adjust, just like Jimmy Johnson, Jon Gruden, Bill Cowher, Tony Dungy etc did before him. I think he would do well, that said of course I hope he coaches the Rams for 30 years.“-DodgersFanintheATL
