According to ESPN’s lead NFL insider, Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph and pass game coordinator/quarterbacks coach Davis Webb will interview today for the vacant Baltimore Ravens head coaching position.

We learned of Vance’s interview last night, but this morning we learned that the up-and-coming Davis Webb would be joining him as well.

The Ravens parted ways with longtime head coach John Harbaugh earlier this week, and now Vance Joseph will have the opportunity to be his successor. The team has All-Pro quarterback Lamar Jackson, All-Pro running back Derrick Henry, and a talented defense, and is likely the best job available right now. Meanwhile, Webb would add a bright and young offensive mind that could spark this stagnant Ravens offense and get the most out of Lamar Jackson.

I still believe that Joseph and Webb are being viewed as a package deal. Joseph can be the veteran “leader of men” who brings a strong defense with him. Meanwhile, Webb, who turns 31 years old later this month, is inexperienced as a coach, will have an opportunity to call plays and run an offense.

If not, both coaches deserve this job based on what they have done. Joseph’s defense has been the backbone of two Broncos postseason runs, while Webb is a fast riser who has developed Bo Nix into a very talented starting quarterback.

Davis Webb is a former third-round selection by the New York Giants in the 2017 NFL Draft. He would play for the Giants, Jets, and Bills during his playing career before retiring after the 2022 season. After retiring, he would jump right into coaching and be hired by newly hired Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton to be his quarterbacks coach.

Sean Payton was so impressed by Webb’s interview that he called to have the car taking Webb to the airport to turn around so he could hire him on the spot. Webb quickly became a beloved and highly thought of coach for the Broncos and is a big reason for quarterback Bo Nix’s development these past two seasons. The Broncos believe he is a future head coach in the making, and now, he is about to have his first head coaching interview at the age of 30 years old.

This will be Webb’s second head coaching interview thus far. His first was with the Raiders, and today will be his second with the Ravens. Meanwhile, Joseph has a busy day ahead of him. On Wednesday, he interviewed for the Titans job, and today, he will interview with the Ravens, Giants, and Raiders before interviewing with the Cardinals on Friday. He is also supposed to interview with the Falcons but there has been no reported schedule for that as of yet.

Broncos coaches are in high demand in the NFL.
