We’ve got an extra episode of Buffaloes Breakdown for everyone this week to breakdown Colorado’s exciting new offensive coordinator.
Jake, Ryland and Jack talk about Ralphie Report’s longstanding fandom of Marion and how exciting his arrival in Boulder finally is. They discuss his fit on Deion Sander’s staff, the change expected in offensive firepower and how that might affect the roster.
In our story after the hire, Ryland wrote, “Marion, 38, comes to Boulder after spending one year in Sacramento as head coach of the Hornets. Prior to his time in Northern California, Marion has quickly climbed the coaching ranks, spending time on Steve Sarkisian’s staff at Texas in 2022, Barry Odom’s staff at UNLV in 2023 and 2024, and Pat Narduzzi’s staff at Pitt in 2021, where he has received much credit for Pitt’s explosive offense that won the ACC with the likes of Jordan Addison and Kenny Pickett.
Marion is known for his signature “go-go offense,” which uses option reads and a fast pace of play to try to put defenders in awkward and uncomfortable positions where they can be easily beaten. Along with that, Marion is widely regarded as an elite recruiter and is a proven playcaller, known for his innovative and forward-thinking brand of football.“
