Matt Campbell has found his running backs coach according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. Boston College’s running backs coach Savon Huggins will be hired at same position for the Nittany Lions.
Higgins spent the last five seasons as running backs coach for BC, most recently working under for Penn State coach Bill O’Brien.
Huggins worked his way up as a high school coach, where he earned a 32-3 record and won a state title at Somersville High School in New Jersey. He then served as an intern for the Miami Dolphins before joining Buffalo’s staff as a wide receiver assistant before heading to BC.
Higgins played running back at Rutgers from 2011-2013, but missed his senior season due to injury. He rushed for 842 yards and nine touchdowns during his career with the Scarlet Knights.
