Real Madrid’s preparations for the Spanish Super Cup final have been slightly disrupted by fitness concerns surrounding three first-team players, with the club closely monitoring their condition ahead of Sunday’s clash.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Antonio Rudiger, Rodrygo and Raul Asencio are all considered doubts as things stand, pending further medical checks.
Los Blancos are set to take on FC Barcelona, with positive news arriving in the form of Kylian Mbappe’s return to the squad.
However, the availability of three key players remains uncertain, with medical examinations scheduled for Friday and final decisions expected to be taken based on how each player feels physically.
What happened to the defenders?
Rudiger’s case is being treated with caution, as the German defender played through discomfort in his left knee during the semifinal.
Despite not being fully fit, he managed to give Real Madrid 69 intense minutes before being withdrawn, a decision taken to avoid further risk.
Asencio also experienced physical problems during the derby, particularly after a demanding duel with Alexander Sorloth.
The defender showed clear signs of muscle discomfort, repeatedly stretching the back of his right thigh as the match progressed.

The physical toll of the game eventually forced him to signal that he could not continue.
Xabi Alonso later addressed the situation and provided clarity on why both players were substituted.
“Antonio had limitations with his knee. He made a great effort and could not take it anymore. Raul was also suffering, and we needed refreshment in that defensive line.”
What about Rodrygo?
Rodrygo is the third name being closely watched. The Brazilian forward, who found the net to score Real Madrid’s second goal, took a knock after a clash with Julian Alvarez late in the game.
He went to the ground following the duel and was replaced in the 87th minute as a precaution.
While all three players remain doubtful for now, there is optimism within the camp that their situations will become clearer in the coming hours.
The medical staff is expected to make careful assessments to ensure no unnecessary risks are taken in such a high-stakes final.
