This is the Maryland Minute, a short story followed by a roundup of Terps-related news.
Sidney Stewart was named ESPN’s 19th-best freshmen in the country for the past season, in a list released Wednesday.
It’s hard to argue with the former three-star’s inclusion. Stewart exploded onto the scene in 2025, posting 4.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss in his first four games en route to seven sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss on the full year. It’s important to note, though, that Stewart was visibly playing through an injury for much of the second half of the season.
Zahir Mathis was not included on ESPN’s list.
