Fenerbahce are once again preparing to flex their financial muscle, with Serie A emerging as a key hunting ground as the Turkish giants plan further major investment between January and the summer.

After making headlines in recent windows with high-profile deals and following the €29 million capture of Matteo Guendouzi from Lazio, the Istanbul club are now targeting attacking reinforcements.

According to reports from Goal, via CalcioMercato, Fenerbahce have drawn up a shortlist that includes Ademola Lookman, Lois Openda and Christopher Nkunku, all currently playing or previously linked with Serie A.

Lookman is viewed as the most concrete option.

The Nigerian is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations, but Fenerbahce are expected to open talks with Atalanta in the coming days.

The Bergamaschi are believed to value the attacker at around €45 million, preferring a straight sale rather than a structured deal.

Meanwhile Fenerbahce are exploring the possibility of a loan with an obligation to buy.

Nkunku and Openda remain alternative profiles under consideration as Fenerbahce assess market conditions.

Turkish clubs are able to offer salaries beyond the reach of most Italian sides and, therefore, Serie A could once again prove fertile territory as Fenerbahce push to strengthen a squad currently sitting second in the Super Lig, just three points behind leaders Galatasaray.
