Jordan Shipley scored the only goal as Port Vale beat Fleetwood Town to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Vale midfielder struck in stoppage time at the end of the first half to give Jon Brady a win in his first game in charge and take his side past this stage of the competition for the first time since 2013-14.

It was a morale-boosting victory for Port Vale, who sit bottom of League One, but have now recorded back-to-back wins following the departure of Darren Moore.

Fleetwood, however, were left to rue the loss of Lewis McCann who was stretchered off in the first half after receiving lengthy medical treatment.

More to follow.
