Just 17 days after leaving LIV Golf, Brooks Koepka has applied for reinstatement on the PGA Tour, according to a report by ESPN's Mark Schlabach.

Citing sources, Koepka did so on Friday. He had one year left on his LIV contract, but will no longer play on the circuit, backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.

Brooks Koepka watches from the third tee during the quarterfinals of the 2025 LIV Golf Team Championship at The Cardinal at Saint John's Resort.

"Brooks Koepka will be stepping away from LIV Golf," his representation said in a statement on Dec. 23. "Family has always guided Brooks' decisions, and he feels this is the right moment to spend more time at home. Brooks will continue to be a huge supporter of LIV Golf and wishes the league and its players continued success. Brooks remains passionate about the game of golf and will keep fans updated on what's ahead."

The nine-time winner on the PGA Tour has five majors but didn't contend in any of the big four last season. What's not clear is what steps are required for reinstatement, how long those steps will take, and when he might once again be a member of the Tour he left in June of 2022.

"We have amicably and mutually agreed that Brooks Koepka will no longer compete in the LIV Golf League, following the 2025 season," LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neill said in late December. "Brooks is prioritizing the needs of his family and staying closer to home. We appreciate the significant impact he has had on the game and wish him continued success, both on and off the course."

Schlabach's sources say that "once Koepka reapplies for membership, the Tour will start its reinstatement and disciplinary process, which will include 'thoughtful input from the board, including player directors.'"

Despite not playing on LIV this year and his PGA Tour status in limbo, Koepka is still eligible for the Masters, the PGA Championship, the U.S. Open, and the Open Championship thanks to his 2023 PGA Championship win, which granted him a five-year exemption into all four majors.
