In girls basketball recaps we see Hudson win its fourth straight game while Onsted also gets a win; Sand Creek falls

HUDSON — The Hudson Lady Tigers picked up their third straight win of the season Thursday night, defeating Lenawee County rival Clinton by the score of 51-41.

Both teams displayed intense defense and gritty work on both sides of the floor in the back-and-forth affair.

Taylor Kopin, Hudson – Kopin led the way for Hudson in the win, pouring in 19 points while adding six rebounds, two steals and an assist.

Ryen Rogers, Hudson – Rogers was key to the Hudson success, adding in 11 points, five rebounds and a steal.

Elci Rogers, Hudson – Rogers finished off the double-digit scoring for Hudson, scoring 10 points in the win.

Macayle Grayer, Hudson – Grayer stuffed the stat box for the Hudson win, scoring five points to go with five rebounds and six steals.

No stats were made available by Clinton for the game

What’s next?

With the loss Clinton falls to 4-2 overall and will return to action Monday when it travels to Michigan Center.

With the victory Hudson improves to 5-3 with their next action coming Tuesday when it hosts Ida.

Onsted 58, Hillsdale 29

Onsted controlled the game from the start, outscoring Hillsdale 18-2 in the first quarter to take the early advantage.

Top performers

Hannah Hill, Onsted – Hill led the Onsted effort, pouring in a game high 22 points to go along with seven rebounds.

Karlie Kimerer, Onsted – Kimerer hit big, using five 3-pointers to notch 17 total points.

What’s next?

Onsted is now 6-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference. The Wildcats will be back in action Tuesday when they travel to Dundee.

Erie Mason 38, Sand Creek 17

Sand Creek kept things extremely close versus Erie Mason, with the deficit at just a single bucket at the half, with the Aggies trailing 14-12. Erie Mason turned it on in the third quarter, outscoring Sand Creek 11-2 in the third quarter to build a 25-14 lead. The Erie Mason kept up the pressure, only allowing three Sand Creek points in the fourth quarter, as Erie Mason went on to win 38-17.

Top performers

Sand Creek was led by Brielle Nichelson with five points while the duo of Payton Steinke and Elise Wilkinson scored four points each.

Erie Mason had one player hit double figures as Zoie Stubleski scored 13 points while teammate Paige Konrad added nine points in the win.

With the loss Sand Creek falls to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference. Sand Creek will be back in action Tuesday when it hosts Whiteford.
