Arman Tsarukyan delivered a lightning quick win over four-time NCAA All-American Lance Palmer
Arman Tsarukyan never competed in wrestling internationally but the No. 1 contender in the UFC’s lightweight division put on a show shutting down Lance Palmer at RAF 5 on Saturday.
It was an incredibly impressive showing from Tsarukyan as he snatched an early takedown and just kept pouring on the offense while never allowing Palmer a second to breathe. The rapid fire scoring continued until Tsarukyan landed a takedown followed by a gut-wrench turn that ended the match with 10-0 score for the technical fall.
As he awaits his next fight in the UFC, Tsarukyan has been competing in grappling matches and now he just scored a win in wrestling over a four-time All-American from The Ohio State University.
Tsarukyan got the scoring started with a front headlock into a takedown and a turn to go up 4-0 early and with a pushout he got another point on Palmer. Another pushout followed with Tsarukyan showing superior size and strength as he just muscled Palmer around the mats.
As time ticked away in the first period, Tsarukyan had no desire to see the second as he snatched another takedown before circling around to the back where he delivered a turn to put on more points on Palmer.
The final turn with two points ended the match with Tsarukyan getting the technical fall and Palmer falling to 0-2 in RAF since making his return to wrestling.
While there’s no telling when Tsarukyan might get a UFC title shot, he could certainly continue making waves in RAF with plenty of wrestlers likely itching at the chance to challenge him on the mats.
