The Eagles head coach and WR1 had an aggressive exchange of words before halftime against the 49ers.
The Eagles final drive before halftime against the 49ers included an incomplete deep pass to A.J. Brown, who was then slow to get up and left the field for one play. When he returned, he missed another pass on third down forcing the team to punt. Head coach Nick Sirianni didn’t seem mad about the missed opportunities, but was looking for some urgency from his players to get off the field for the punt. Brown apparently didn’t appreciate it, resulting in the two having to be separated.
Sirianni for his part emphasizes the importance of hurrying — to the line, to the sideline, in all facets of the game —, but Brown was just injured in some capacity a couple plays prior so maybe he wasn’t able to move quite as quickly.
If the Eagles win, the two will probably chalk it up to an emotional moment between guys in the middle of a big game, but if they lose, it’ll definitely be a talking point for months — especially considering Brown’s penchant for verbalizing his displeasure, and Sirianni being a big personality.
