Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi played 31 career games with Colorado State and was the starter for parts of three years before he left the program in 2025.
The transfer portal commitments are beginning to pour in for the Michigan Wolverines.
Just hours after Michigan football landed former Texas wide receiver Jamie Ffrench Jr., U-M has locked in a commitment from former Colorado State quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, according to his social media page.
Fowler-Nicolosi played 31 career games with Colorado State and was the starter for parts of three seasons before he left the program during the 2025 season. He has thrown for 6,938 pass yards in his career and completed 60.2% of his passes (583 of 969) with 38 touchdowns and 29 interceptions. The Aledo, Texas, native also ran for six career TD, but is not much of a running threat with 95 career carries for 59 yards, counting sacks.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder senior has one year of eligibility remaining.
It's highly unlikely he will compete for the starting job, as that belongs to rising sophomore Bryce Underwood, who announced his return to Ann Arbor earlier in the month.
U-M wanted to find a quarterback with some experience to back up Underwood with Mikey Keene entering the transfer portal as well as Jadyn Davis and 2024 starter Davis Warren (Stanford).
The only other quarterbacks on the roster at this time are all freshman: Chase Herbstreit (redshirt), Brady Smigiel and Tommy Carr, grandson of former Michigan national championship coach Lloyd Carr.
If you're a college football diehard, Fowler-Nicolosi could be a familiar name. He went viral for comments he made when Colorado State faced Colorado in the second week of the 2023 season. That's when he said "we'll see how far Instagram followers get you," seemingly a shot at Shedeur Sanders in an interview before the contest.
