LSU finally gets a quarterback
Our long national nightmare is over: LSU has added a quarterback.
Sunday evening it was reported by On3 that former Elon quarterback Landen Clark would be transferring to LSU. Clark then confirmed the news by tweeting out the ole “Geaux Tigers.” Clark picked LSU over Kentucky, Michigan, and James Madison.
Clark comes to LSU as a redshirt sophomore. He only threw one pass in 2024, but this season he took over the starting job for the Phoenix. In 2025, Clark completed 56 percent of his passes for 2,321 yards and 18 touchdowns against eight interceptions. He was also Elon’s second leading rusher with 614 yards and 11 touchdowns on 189 attempts.
Clark probably wasn’t on any LSU’s fans radar when the portal opened, and I’m sure Lane Kiffin would say the same if you gave him truth serum. But Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr. have an eye for quarterback talent—who had ever heard of Trinidad Chambliss up until this season?—and now they’ll have the whole offseason to get Clark coached up.
One thing is for sure though: LSU isn’t done adding quarterbacks. Former five-star Husan Longstreet is in Baton Rouge on an official visit and was even at the women’s basketball game Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers needed to add multiple quarterbacks over this portal cycle. They have one, now we’re waiting to see if Longstreet will be the second.
