BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — The SDSU women’s basketball team torched the nets for a 103-76 win over Oral Roberts Saturday. That’s the most points the Jacks have scored in a game in nearly two seasons.

The offense was powered by a program-record 19 3-pointers. The Jackrabbits shot 50 percent from deep, a higher clip than they made from inside the arc. Emilee Fox and Katie Vasecka knocked down five triples apiece, and each scored 17.

State started the game shooting a blistering 8-of-13 from downtown in the first quarter – to the tune of 32 points. They led by 20 after the opening 10 minutes.

“When you make a few easy ones, especially at home, the crowd gets going,” SDSU head coach Aaron Johnston said. “So you feel a little more confident on the next one. We made a couple early threes, which seemed to take the pressure off of everybody. Obviously making 19 threes is a hard thing to do.”

The Jackrabbits, who have 66 straight Summit League regular season games, host Denver and NDSU this week.
