Barcelona MVP opens up on emotions and ambition after Super Cup triumph – ‘We will fight to win everything’

Raphinha was one of the standout figures of the Spanish Super Cup final, playing a decisive role in Barcelona’s title win with a two-goal performance that earned him the tournament’s MVP award. 

In a high-intensity final, the Brazilian forward stepped up when it mattered most.

After celebrating the first trophy of the season, Raphinha spoke with confidence about both the final itself and the team’s outlook for the months ahead. 

Explaining the win

He made it clear that Barcelona approached the game with a clear plan and executed it effectively, even when circumstances forced them to adapt their style.

“We all knew what we had to do to win this game. I think we did very well. 

“We had to defend more at times, and when we had the ball, we did very well. I think the final result was quite unfair given what we did in the game,” he explained.

Beyond his individual contribution, the winger emphasised that trophies are the ultimate measure of success at a club like Barcelona.

He underlined this mindset by stating that “the main objective of wearing this shirt is to win titles” and added that “we will fight to win all the titles,” making it clear that the Super Cup is seen as a starting point rather than a final destination.

Squad growth

Raphinha also spoke about the evolution of the squad, suggesting that the team is now better prepared to handle the demands of competing on multiple fronts.

According to him, last season’s experiences have helped shape a more mature and focused group.

“The team has matured a lot, and we can continue what we did last season. We are focused and we know what we want,” he explained.

The Brazilian’s celebrations after the final also caught attention, as he once again wore his distinctive glasses while enjoying the moment with teammates and fans.

“I was a little emotional at the end of the game because of the victory,” he concluded.
