Sheffield United have completed the signing of Leicester City midfielder Simone Sherwood on a loan deal until the end of the season.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this afternoon.
The 19-year-old moves to Bramall Lane in a bid to get regular first team football and to further her development.
Sherwood has come through the Leicester City academy system and she has broken into the senior squad. The youngster has made eight appearances for The Foxes in all competitions to date.
On the international stage, Sherwood has represented England at various youth levels.
The midfielder will now be hoping to help loan club Sheffield United continue their decent form in the second half of the season.
After sealing her loan move to Bramall Lane, Sherwood said “I’m really excited to try and help the team but also develop my game as well this season.
“It’s been good. All the girls have been really welcoming and it’s nice to have a few familiar faces to help on the first day.”
Sherwood could make her Sheffield United debut when the club face Crystal Palace at Bramall Lane in Barclays WSL2 this evening.
