Former Georgia and Purdue wide receiver Nitro Tuggle has transferred to the South Carolina Gamecocks
A former Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver has found a new home. Purdue Boilermakers transfer wide receiver Nitro Tuggle committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks, according to On3. Tuggle will be returning to the SEC as a major foe to Georgia.
Tuggle is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound receiver from Elkhart, Indiana. He was a four-star recruit from the class of 2024 when he signed with Georgia. Unfortunately, his time with Georgia was short-lived, as he played in eight games and had just three receptions for 34 yards and no touchdowns.
Following an off-the-field issue, Tuggle entered the spring transfer portal, where he was promptly picked up by the Purdue Boilermakers. The Boilermakers had plenty of former Georgia players on their roster including former Georgia WR De'Nylon Morrissette and offensive lineman Marques Easley, so Tuggle was back in a familiar place with a few teammates.
He was a serviceable receiver at Purdue, with 500 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 34 receptions. That included a five-reception, 80-yard day against the Indiana Hoosiers, who are facing the Miami Hurricanes in the national championship.
Now, Tuggle finds himself with the South Carolina Gamecocks, one of the three SEC rivals Georgia is slated to play every year (through 2029). He joins former Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Thomas and will be coached by former Georgia TE/ST coordinator Shane Beamer. The Gamecocks will face the Georgia Bulldogs on Nov. 21, 2026 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.
