Badgers add transfer wide receiver from rival school

The Badgers have a third wide receiver in the transfer portal.

The Wisconsin Badgers were in search of another receiver in the transfer portal, and they got one on Monday, as Minnesota Gophers wideout Malachi Coleman signed with the program on Monday.

Coleman, a redshirt sophomore in 2023, caught five passes for 83 yards at Minnesota before entering the transfer portal. He spent the first two years of his career with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. As a true freshman, he caught eight passes for 139 yards and a touchdown before redshirting the 2024 season, playing in just one game.

Standing 6’5, 200 pounds, Coleman is a big-bodied outside wide receiver who fits what the Badgers want on the boundary, and he becomes the third addition at the position in the transfer portal.

Wisconsin has also added Southeastern Louisiana wideout Jaylon Domingeaux, who caught 57 passes for 802 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2025, and Oklahoma State wideout Shamar Rigby, who caught 25 passes for 351 yards and a touchdown this past season.

They also retained freshman wideout Eugene Hilton, who entered the transfer portal and fielded some SEC interest before withdrawing from the portal and returning to Wisconsin.

The Badgers do not have many returners from their 2025 group, as Chris Brooks Jr., Tyrell Henry, and Hilton are the only three projected incumbents from last year’s roster. Wisconsin has now added three wide receivers in the portal and will also have incoming freshmen Keeyshawn Tabuteau and Zion Legree on its 2026 roster.
