Virginia has added an experienced quarterback to a rising roster.
Beau Pribula is transferring to Virginia from Missouri, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. The move gives the Cavaliers a veteran option under center for the 2026 season.
Pribula started eight games during his lone season at Missouri, throwing for 1,941 yards with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions while adding 297 rushing yards and six scores on 95 carries. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Pribula goes from the middle of the SEC pack to a Virginia program that surged in head coach Tony Elliott’s fourth season. The Cavaliers finished 7-1 in ACC play and 11-3 overall, falling 27-20 to Duke in the conference championship game and missing the College Football Playoff.

A former three-star recruit from York, Pennsylvania, Pribula originally signed with the James Franklin and Penn State in the Class of 2022. He spent three seasons in State College, primarily backing up Drew Allar while carving out a role as a dangerous runner in specialty packages. In 24 games at Penn State, Pribula totaled 424 passing yards with nine touchdowns and rushed for 571 yards and 10 scores.

Pribula transferred to Missouri last winter and won the starting job after Sam Horn was injured, helping the Tigers to a 5-0 start before SEC play proved more challenging. An ankle injury sidelined him late in the year.
Virginia previously relied on Chandler Morris, who threw for more than 3,000 yards last season. Pribula now arrives as the likely successor, adding mobility and experience to a Cavaliers team looking to take the next step in the ACC.
