Alexander Volkanovski is less than one month away from defending his UFC featherweight title against Diego Lopes at UFC 325 in Sydney, Australia, but he still doesn’t know how he’ll be compensated for the lack of pay-per-view (PPV) points.
Remember, UFC transitioned to Paramount+ to begin the new year and are no longer part of the PPV model. This means changes for those entitled to PPV points, which includes champions like Volkanovski.
On Monday, Volkanovski joined the Ariel Helwani Show to discuss a variety of topics. Once of which was how UFC intends to rectify the loss of PPV points. Despite being less than a month out from UFC 325, Volkanovski still doesn’t know what the promotion has in store.
“Not exactly sure just yet, to be honest,” Volkanovski said. “I think we are in talks with them so we’ll see, but it is different right so that’s why them conversations are going to be had. I’m not sure. I’m just focusing on what I do and I’ll leave the rest to Ash.”
“Definitely. For sure,” he added when asked if he expects to be satisfied with the potential resolution.“
Volkanovski, who has been fighting off retirement questions for the last few months, will meet Lopes for the second time at UFC 325 on Jan. 31 live on Paramount+ in Sydney Australia. Check out the official UFC 325 fight card HERE.
