Eric Dier (31) has been offered to West Ham United, according to a report from Florian Plettenberg. However, AS Monaco are looking to retain the Englishman, L’Équipe understand.
Dier began life at the Principality club well, having made the move on a free transfer, following the expiry of his contract at Bayern Munich. However, a string of injuries meant that he didn’t feature between the start of October and earlier this month.
It has been a long road back for the Englishman, and Monaco are hoping to count on him for the second half of the season, as they look to make their way back into the European places. That is despite the defender being offered to Premier League strugglers West Ham United.
Dier is seen as an “interesting opportunity” for the Hammers, Plettenberg understands, although any move was not at all advanced. Monaco’s stance on a move may put a stop to West Ham’s hopes entirely.
