West Ham are in dire, dire straits.
They can’t buy a win in the league, repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot just when they’re close to earning 3 points. Even a cup win against QPR this week was a slog.
They’ve got problems through the whole team – they’re short in midfield, they have no good defenders, yet their spending in January so far has been on attackers. They look like they’re heading for the drop.
West Ham on hand to save Chelsea from their own bad transfer decision

Where do Chelsea come into this? Well according to TeamTalk, it looks like the Hammers are considering signing Chelsea backup goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen to add to their collection of mediocre stoppers.
The Swedish Dane was signed in the summer of 2025 for £21m but has yet to really impress. He’s looked pretty dodgy when given a chance, and even the much maligned Robert Sanchez has shown himself to be far better.
We really wouldn’t recommend it, frankly. Jorgensen has yet to show he’s Premier League standard, and doesn’t have any of the calmness or experience you’d want from a keeper to help you in a relegation battle.
For that reason, this all sounds quite unlikely – although we would never rule out a West Ham transfer decision on the basis that it would be a bad idea. Chelsea would surely love to palm off their failed experiment at a break even price.
In other news…
Cole Palmer had his annus mirabilis under Mauricio Pochettino rather than Enzo Maresca and the stats show it clearly – but how much of that was actually down to the coaches?
Rio Ferdinand has also called on Rosenior to work out how to get the best out of Palmer – something we would all like to see.
