Cup of Cavs: News and links for Wednesday, Jan. 14

The Cavs are on the road, looking for some redemption.

Good morning, it’s Wednesday, January 14th. The Cleveland Cavaliers are 22-19 and play the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. It’s their first of two on the road against Philly.

This is Cleveland’s second game of the season against the 76ers. They defeated Philly in their first matchup, 132-121, back in November. The 76ers are 22-16 this season.

Today’s Game of the Day

  • Denver Nuggets at Dallas Mavericks

The Nuggets (26-13) are looking to stay strong without Nikola Jokic. Denver is 5-5 over their last 10 games and have been led by Jamal Murray, who is averaging a career-high 25.3 points per game this season. Murray is currently day-to-day with an ankle injury.

The Mavericks (15-25) will also be without their starting center. Anthony Davis is out for several months with a hand injury. It hasn’t been great for Dallas this season, and the Luka Doncic trade feels worse and worse each day.

The Rest of the NBA Slate

  • Toronto Raptors at Indiana Pacers – 7 PM
  • Utah Jazz at Chicago Bulls – 8 PM
  • Brooklyn Nets at New Orleans Pelicans- 8 PM
  • New York Knicks at Sacramento Kings – 10 PM
  • Washington Wizards at LA Clippers – 10:30 PM

I’m sure some of these games will end up being more entertaining than you’d think. But… yeah, it isn’t shaping up to be the most exciting night of NBA basketball.
