Los Angeles Rams News and Links for 1/14/26
It’s Hump Day, let’s have some fun, and a topic I thought would be fun would be: Should the Los Angeles Rams put Puka Nacua at cornerback?
If you watched last week’s game against the Carolina Panthers, then you saw Matthew Stafford almost throw a second interception on the day, instead Nacua punched the ball out of the defensive back’s hands.
The pass was intended for Nacua, but as soon as he saw the defense had a better chance to make a play on it then him, he took action, and it may have saved the game and L.A.‘s season.
Sean McVay Lauds Puka Nacua for Game-Saving Play in Rams’ Win: ‘Freakin Warrior’ (si.com)
“Trailing 24-20 with under 12 minutes remaining in the game, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford overshot Nacua on a third down pass towards the end zone, with the ball headed straight for the arms of Panthers safety Nick Scott. It would have been Stafford’s second interception of the game, as well as a momentum-changing turnover. But Nacua, in a play that may have saved the game—and the Rams’ season—played defense and batted the ball out of Scott’s hands.”
No, it won’t happen, but Nacua may be the best wide receiver and cornerback on their roster. Who knew?

Former QB Makes Blunt Rams-Bears Prediction, ‘They’re A Juggernaut’ (lafbnetwork)
“Former NFL quarterback Alex Smith didn’t hesitate when asked to assess the Los Angeles Rams’ playoff matchup with the Chicago Bears. Appearing on Up & Adams with Kay Adams, Smith offered a blunt evaluation of the landscape — one that paints Los Angeles as a dangerous postseason opponent capable of overwhelming Chicago, even in less-than-ideal conditions.“
Random Ramsdom Fandom:
“I’m trying to look at this game from an unbiased angle. Rams on the road, in Chicago, in the extreme cold.
Do the Bears have any magic left? We shall see. Our DL should be able to get to Caleb. I watched Caleb a lot at USC & now in Chicago. If we let him get out of the pocket and make plays with his feet, he will find the open guy because our coverage will eventually break down. He runs but he looks to pass most of the time. If we send pressure, I know he’s eventually going to make some game altering mistakes.
Getting Dotson back is gonna be huge. Hopefully Adams & Lake shook off the rust after last week. Please run the ball a shit ton with Corum & Kyren. Both should get around 10-15 carries each. Hopefully we get Ferg back and use more 13 personnel. At this point I trust our offense down 4 needing a TD rather than down 3 playing for a FG. My gut says Rams win 33-30. I know McVay is gonna have the team ready to play, cold or not.
