Gervonta Davis wanted for alleged domestic violence

Gervonta Davis is officially a fugitive after allegedly attacking an ex-girlfriend

Last October, Courtney Rossel filed a lawsuit accusing former partner Gervonta Davis of “battery, aggravated battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.” Earlier today, the Miami Gardens Police Department announced a warrant for Davis’ arrest for “false imprisonment, battery and attempted kidnapping” after reviewing security footage of the alleged incident and finding that it matched Rossel’s recounting of events.

Per Rossel’s filing:

The complaint presents a pattern of violence from Davis, claiming that “on multiple occasions, Davis allegedly choked her, threatened to kill her, and assaulted her both in private and in public settings.” It names a particularly gruesome event this past Monday, the 27th, wherein Davis allegedly “grabbed, choked, and dragged Rossel through a stairwell, the kitchen, and the back exit before beating her in the parking garage, striking her in the back of the head while she screamed for help.”

Davis (30-0-1, 28 KO) has not competed since a controversial draw with Lamont Roach Jr this past May. Rossel’s lawsuit resulted in Jake Paul canceling a planned December bout, though considering Davis’ long and well-documented history of violence towards women, one has to wonder why this one wound up being the last straw. “Tank” still holds the WBA lightweight title.
