Chelsea were beaten by Arsenal last night, but one person who made the most of his chance was Alejandro Garnacho, who came into the game as a sub but scored both of his team’s goals in the second half.

He spoke to Chelsea TV about the game and his contribution.

“I think we started a little bit slowly, but in the second half we changed our mindset a little bit and we started stronger. We lost the game but it’s all open for when we have to play away.”

“The new manager came a few days ago and we have a lot of injuries, but we’re still Chelsea so we have to try and win games, no excuses.”

“We conceded but the mentality is there, score one goal, get back in the game, concede again, score another. So we’ll go there [to the Emirates] and try to win.

“Sometimes you have to help from the bench, sometimes from the start. A team is not just 11 players, it’s all the squad. The season is long and everyone is going to get the chance to be important.”

Personally Garnacho will have done his case for starting more game a world of good here. New manager Liam Rosenior picks his first Premier League lineup on Saturday.

In other news…

Liam Rosenior spoke about his goalkeepers after the game and admitted he was disappointed by the mistake that Robert Sanchez had made for the first goal.

After a long period hearing that the plan was to do nothing in January, it seems Chelsea have dramatically changed their plans, with a defender now in their sights according to a top insider.
