Asamoah earns his second honor of the off-season.
Rutgers guard Kwabena Asamoah has been named to the ESPN 2025 All-America Second Team. ESPN’s all-America team features the best players from around the world of college football, according to ESPN itself. They only released a first and a second team, and Asamoah was named to the second team right behind Oregon’s Emmanuel Pregnon. Other guards named to the list include Keylan Rutlege from Colorado and Vega Ioane from Penn State.
During the 2025 season, Asamoah played a pivotal role in an offensive line unit that cleared the way for running back Antwan Raymond to have a 1,241-yard rushing season. That is Asamoah’s second time being the starting blocker for a 1,000-yard rusher and his third time blocking for a 1,00 yard rusher overall. In addition, he was part of a unit that kept the pocket clear for quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis, who had a 3,000-yard passing season at Rutgers.
He has become a staple for Rutgers on the offensive line, as he has started 25 games dating back to last season.
