FC Bayern is all set for the summer!
Bayern’s summer plans in place (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk via @iMiaSanMia)
Last summer, Bayern Munich supervisory board member Uli Hoeneß lamented how deep into the transfer window the club’s transfer dealings went. For the summer of 2026. board member for sport Max Eberl has already finalized the plan:
Bayern’s squad plans for summer 2026 are already in place. Max Eberl wants to fulfill Uli Hoeneß’ wish by implementing an early transfer window.
Having the plan finished and executing the plan are two separate things. For example, players like RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and FC Köln’s Said El Mala will be very difficult to get given the competition, which could cause Bayern Munich to have to pivot.
Eberl, though, fulfilled the request to have the plan in place early, which surely will make the supervisory board happy. That has to account for something, right?
Right?
How is this still a thing: Is Bayern eyeing Fernandes? (CaughtOffside)
How does this rumor keeping coming? What voodoo does the agent for Manchester United Bruno Fernandes keep doling out there to make this a thing?
Bayern Munich are reportedly preparing to pay as much as €100m for the ambitious potential transfer of Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes.
The Portugal international has been a star performer for Man Utd for many years now, proving himself to be by far the most successful signing the club has made in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
Earlier today, a report from BBC Sport suggested that Fernandes would consider his future at the end of this season, with the 31-year-old’s preference being to stay in Europe.
Fernandes is now also being linked with Bayern Munich by Fichajes, who state that the Bundesliga giants could launch a big-money move for the former Sporting Lisbon man.
Everyone knows that only a Sith deals in absolutes…well, this time — only a Smith deals in absolutes: There is NO WAY this happens.
City, LFC angling for Alonso? (The Hard Tackle)
After his ouster from Real Madrid, Xabi Alonso is probably taking some time to think about what might be next.
Well, the former Bayern Munich midfielder might have some options as Liverpool and Manchester City if things go a certain way at those clubs:
Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly among the clubs interested in 44-year-old Spanish tactician Xabi Alonso after his Real Madrid exit. According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Liverpool and Manchester City are keen on landing Xabi Alonso. The two Premier League bigwigs are scouring the managerial market for a top-class candidate amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Arne Slot and Pep Guardiola. So, the 44-year-old former Real Madrid manager has emerged as a target for them. However, they face stiff competition from Bayern Munich for his signature.
Alonso is still a good coach and if he had chosen Bayern Munich, he would likely he at the helm of this incredible squad having the same success. Timing is everything as they say and Alonso gambled on the wrong gig.
Rashford to stay at Barca? (ESPN)
Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford is rumored to want to stay at FC Barcelona:
Marcus Rashford is on record saying he wants to stay at Barcelona, so he will be happy to hear the club reportedly want the same. Barça have a €30m clause to make the move permanent when his loan deal expires this summer, and according to The Athletic, there is interest in keeping him around. “Oh yeah, for sure,” Rashford told ESPN in October when asked if he wanted to remain at the Camp Nou. “I’m enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game.”
Van de Ven to Real? (Football Insider)
Real Madrid could be taking a look at Tottenham Hotspur star Micky van de Ven:
Tottenham are planning to hold talks with Micky van de Ven over the offer of a new contract amid links with a potential move to Real Madrid.
That is according to former Tottenham and Man United senior scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected at his previous clubs, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 24-year-old is seen as a crucial player for Spurs.
“There’s been a lot of talk about Van de Ven,” he told Football Insider.
“Real Madrid are definitely one to keep an eye on, they want new defenders and won’t be shy of looking in the Premier League if there is somebody they want.
“He has been spoken about in connection with them before, so maybe that’s something that could come up again at the end of the season.
“Tottenham don’t want that to happen, of course, they want to get him on a new contract.
“For me, he’s a little bit hot and cold in that he’ll be amazing one week and then you don’t see much of him the next, but there’s no doubt he’s an important player.
“From Spurs point of view, they don’t want to be losing any of their key players any time soon.
“So they’ll be sitting down with Van de Ven and attempting to extend his deal and maybe put off any interest there is in him, from Real Madrid or somebody else.”
Ramos, James to MLS? (ESPN Deportes)
Some rumors are swirling that Sergio Ramos and James Rodríguez are exploring moves to MLS:
Sergio Ramos, 39, and James Rodríguez, 34, have left Liga MX sides Monterrey and León, respectively, but there is a possibility that both players could continue to play in Mexico or MLS, as several teams have inquired about them. Rodríguez has been linked with at least five teams from MLS, with LA Galaxy and the Columbus Crew being the strongest contenders. Ramos recently turned down a move to Paris FC and is reportedly keen to return to Europe.
