Win Over Lille Gives Luis Enrique 100th Victory as PSG Manager

For matchday 18 of Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain defeated Lille 3-0 on Friday evening at the Parc des Princes.

It was a home victory under the rain for the first match of the second half of the league season. After a scare early in the match when Olivier Giroud hit the crossbar (0-0, 2′), PSG controlled the game and won easily.

Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola are the Parisian goalscorers. Dembélé scored twice, his second brace of the season after the first in Toulouse (3-6, 30 August 2025).

Following a magnificent pass from Vitinha, the Ballon d’Or winner opened the scoring with a wonderful left-footed strike from just outside the box, his shot hitting the post and beating Berke Özer for PSG’s first shot on target (1-0, 13′).

Dembélé has scored in each of his last four starts for PSG in official competition. PSG’s second goal was a thing of beauty! Désiré Doué found Dembélé with a one-touch pass from 65 feet out in the box. The Parisian number 10 cut inside and feinted a shot. He held off three defenders before lobbing Özer (2-0, 64′).

Dembélé scored his fifth goal of the Ligue 1 season under the watchful eye of Pauleta, who was also accustomed to scoring these kinds of incredible goals. The entire Parc des Princes applauded the Ballon d’Or winner when he was replaced by Gonçalo Ramos (2-0, 75′).

In the additional time, PSG scored their third goal thanks to Barcola, who came on in the 63rd minute. Marius Broholm sent a risky pass to Aïssa Mandi on his left, Barcola intercepted the ball in front of the Algerian and easily scored with his left foot (3–0, 90’+3).

PSG Win Their 800th Official Match Under QSI

With their elimination from the Coupe de France four days earlier in the Paris derby against Paris FC now forgotten, the European champions are putting pressure back on Lens. With this 13th victory in 18 matches, PSG reclaimed first place in Ligue 1 from Lens, which hosts Auxerre on Saturday.

The Parisians are two points ahead of Lens and have regained their confidence ahead of next Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League match against Sporting. The objective is very clear: Secure a place in the top eight in Portugal and go straight through to the round of 16.
