Inter Milan & Italy Star Reveals How Head Coach Cristian Chivu Turned Fortunes Around After 1-0 Win At Udinese

Inter Milan wing-back Federico Dimarco praised Cristian Chivu and his impact after the Nerazzurri battled to a 1-0 win away to Udinese.

Speaking to DAZN alongside Lautaro Martinez, Dimarco admitted Inter knew they were facing one of the toughest away trips in Serie A.

“We knew this would be a very difficult match,” he said. “We created a lot in the first half but finished poorly. Then we played the second half like a real team, suffering a lot and bringing home a deserved win.”

Dimarco came close to scoring himself, but insisted the result mattered more than personal glory. “It wasn’t easy, I caught it too high,” he explained.

“The important thing was winning. We’re doing a good job and we’ll enjoy ourselves if we listen to the coach.”

The Italy international expanded further in his post-match interview with Sky Sport, underlining the importance of the victory. “This win means a lot,” Dimarco said.

“Getting results like this is crucial. We’re working well with the coach. Only Milan had won here among the big teams, so it wasn’t easy.”

Dimarco stressed the physical and mental demands of the schedule. “The key now is recovering energy as quickly as possible,” he added. “We played a strong first half and then suffered in the second half like a big team.”

The defender also highlighted Inter’s collective sacrifice and his own attacking role. “We showed great determination and everyone sacrificed themselves,” he said.

“I always work to put my qualities at the service of the team, especially in the final pass.”

Finally, Dimarco reflected on the transition from Simone Inzaghi to Cristian Chivu. “We did great work with Inzaghi and maybe could have won more,” he admitted.

“Chivu has given fresh motivation, especially to the older players. Restarting wasn’t easy, but his strength has been bringing serenity back to the group.”

Inter’s ability to suffer and still collect three points in Udine offered further proof of Chivu’s growing influence as the Serie A title race intensifies.
