The 22-year-old is on the club’s list of targets.
Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado has reportedly emerged as a potential target for Atletico Madrid following the departure of Conor Gallagher to Tottenham.
A new report from Marca says that Casado has been put on Atletico’s list of potential targets as they look for a replacement.
Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes is thought to be Atletico’s top target but Casado is also under consideration, particularly because he’s struggling for game time at Barcelona.
Casado reportedly hasn’t given up hope of being included in the Spain squad for World Cup 2026 but knows he has to be playing regularly if he has any chance of making Luis de la Fuente’s list.
The midfielder has played 17 times so far this season for Barcelona, starting eight of those games, and there’s been speculation he’s not happy with his game time at the club.
A winter move still looks unlikely, particularly as Barca now look set to lose Dro Fernandez to PSG, but Casado’s future is likely to be the subject of more speculation the longer he stays on the bench.
