Who won Montgomery Advertiser's poll for Flag Football Player and Coach of the Year?

See who won the Montgomery Advertiser's reader poll for Flag Football Player and Coach of the Year for the 2025 season.

Results for the Montgomery Advertiser's reader poll for the high school flag football player and coach of the year in the Montgomery area are in.

The poll received a total of 26,116 votes, readers were given the opportunity to vote once per hour for a week.

Montgomery Catholic's Avery Sadler and Prattville's Lanieya Page both went toe-to-toe in the poll with only 44 votes separating the two. But it was ultimately Sadler that claimed the poll with a total of 9,545 votes (36.55%). Page finished in second with 9,501 votes (36.38%) to claim second behind Sadler.

Montgomery Catholic coach Whitney Toole completed the sweep for the Knights in the reader's poll, claiming the coach of the year poll with 4,970 votes (61.82%).

Sadler was the do-it-all player for Montgomery Catholic, having a hand in every component on the offense while making plays on the defensive side. Sadler threw for 730 yards, caught another 672 yards while rushing for 53 yards. In all, Sadler accounted for 1,455 yards of total offense with 27 offensive touchdowns.

Toole led Montgomery Catholic to a 22-5 record and a region title in the 2025 season. The Knights took control of the AHSAA playoffs, finding a spot in the Class 1-5A title game for a consecutive season and the third time Toole has led the Knights to the title game.
