P1 with Matt and Tommy voted winner of Autosport’s Creator of the Year Award
P1 with Matt and Tommy has won Autosport’s new fan-voted Creator of the Year Award, recognising the duo for bringing heightened energy, curiosity, and fandom to Formula 1 throughout 2025.
The popular F1-focused brand, led by Matt Gallagher and Tommy Bellingham, collected the award on 21 January at the 38th Autosport Awards at the Roundhouse in London.
In a category designed to celebrate the creators who make people care more deeply about racing through passion, storytelling, and community connection, Gallagher and Bellingham stood out for the way they consistently made F1 feel accessible and alive. Their work exemplified how creator-led content can spark conversation, build genuine fan engagement, and expand the reach of the sport beyond traditional audiences.
“Wow! My heart is racing, this is unbelievable, thank you to everyone who voted. We started P1 just over three years ago and we just didn’t know how it was going to go, but it is a dream come true and the best decision we’ve ever made,” Gallagher said.
“We’re just two Formula 1 nerds and thank you to Autosport for recognising motorsport nerds like us so thank you so much for everyone who voted,” Bellingham added
P1 fought off an exceptional shortlist of nominees including Lissie Macintosh, James Coker, Kireth, Aarava, Tiggy Valen, Christina Roki, Eric Estepp, David Land, and Misha Charoudin. The depth and diversity of creators highlighted the growth of the motorsport content space, where storytelling, analysis, entertainment, and authenticity all play an increasingly vital role.
All year, P1 with Matt and Tommy delivered a steady stream of content that blended authoritative knowledge, humour, and emotional connection. Whether reacting to breaking news, unpacking major race moments, or engaging directly with fans, they created conversations that were both entertaining and electric.
Their content invited fans to be part of the experience, driving comments, shares, and discussion across a community of both hardcore supporters and newcomers alike.
The pair are particularly adept at navigating the most shocking moments of the season while maintaining an informed and honest tone. Their work showed how creator-led coverage can complement traditional motorsport journalism and reach fans exactly where they are at any moment.
The introduction of Creator of the Year marks an important evolution for Autosport Awards, reflecting the growing role independent and digital-first creators play in shaping how fans consume and engage with racing.
By capturing the voice of modern F1 fandom and fostering an inclusive, passionate community, P1 with Matt and Tommy helped racing break into wider cultural conversation, making their win a fitting celebration of a standout year.
Other categories decided by fan voting include Driver of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Moment of the Year presented by Bahrain International Circuit, Competition Car of the Year, Rally Driver of the Year and British Competition Driver of the Year. Another new award for 2025 is Team of the Year.
