The Detroit Tigers have added outfield depth, signing Corey Julks to a minor league contract that includes an invitation to big league spring training.

Julks, 29, appeared in just 13 games at the major league level with the Chicago White Sox during the 2025 season, going 3-for-12 (.250) with one RBI and three strikeouts. While the sample size was small, the Tigers see him as a potential right-handed bat who could compete for a bench role if he has a strong showing in Grapefruit League play.

With Detroit looking to add power and flexibility off the bench, Julks could factor in as a reserve outfielder, particularly as a platoon option against left-handed pitching. A productive spring could put him in the mix for an Opening Day roster spot, but he will first need to earn it in a crowded outfield competition.
