Grant Horvat, a popular golf influencer on YouTube, excited his fans with an announcement this week.
He announced he'd be playing at The American Express tournament in California.
This was big news -- he had been invited to last year's Barracuda Championship with a sponsor exemption, but then he left the tournament due to filming restrictions.
Now, he's back? Well, not as much as initially thought.
Is Grant Horvat playing in The American Express tournament?
He's not playing in the official PGA Tour event, no.
Horvat was actually invited to the pro-am event.
PGA Tour here we come. Playing in the Amex pro am the next 3 days.

This means that you won't find Horvat's name on any official leaderboards of The AmEx.
The regulation golf tournament got underway Thursday. Horvat may still be around, doing his YouTube thing. But he isn't playing in the full PGA Tour event, despite what his fans initially thought.
