The Catalans struggled with set-pieces in the Champions League.
Gerard Martin says Barcelona must improve defensively in the wake of Wednesday’s 4-2 win over Slavia Prague in the Champions League.
Barcelona took all three points in the match but conceded two goals from two corners, with Martin admitting improvements will be needed going forwards.
“Both goals were from set pieces. We have to be strong and improve in that area. This can’t happen to us. It’s about concentration, communication. We have to improve in that aspect. This can’t happen to us in future rounds,” he said.
Barca’s backline has been a concern throughout the tournament with Hansi Flick also quizzed on the whether his team can win the Champions League this season with the current backline.
“Two mistakes on two corners. It was only one game and we can improve. We want to and we can improve,” he told reporters after the match.
Barcelona have conceded 13 goals in seven Champions League matches so far in the 2025-26 campaign, the most of any team bidding for a place in the top eight.
